Old Montréal: A Hunt with Questionnaire in Hand… How Well do You Know Your City?
Montréal, August 13, 1999 — So you know everything about Old Montréal, its history, anecdotes, its architecture…why not test your knowledge? Or perhaps, you are just curious and you want to know more about our city’s history. Then why not participate in our fun game with questions…and it costs nothing! This is a chance for you, your family and friends to join the Montréal Professional Tourist Guides Association, who invite you to participate in this amusing hunt. It is an interesting activity open to everyone. Join us August 28 et 29 in Old Montréal during the Fête de l’histoire when Montréal goes back to the 1900’s.
“This is a great activity for those who are 7 to 77 years old. We have prepared questions which will test your knowledge as you discover our city’s heritage. It is a great way to see old Montréal, and be a tourist in your own city.” says Ruby Roy, president of the APGT’s marketing committee. “There is no time limit, and they have the whole day to complete the questionnaire, if they so wish. It is also a free activity , that everyone should take part in!”
You can pick up your questionnaire on Saturday August 28 and Sunday August 29 at the Centre d’histoire de Montréal and at the Marché Bonsecours on Saint-Paul’s Street. The rally consist of 10 stops. Montréal Professional Tourist Guides will be available to share their wealth of knowledge. We are the only tourist trained professionally with a license from the City of Montréal to give you this accurate and most interesting of information… ah… but we won’t give you the answers to the questions.
It is also a contest… when you have finished answering your questions deposit your questionnaire at the Marché Bonsecours or the Centre d’histoire de Montréal fully completed with your answers before 5PM on August 29 (and if your answers are all correct of course), you could win a prize such as Museum passes, entrance to attractions in Old Montréal… all this so that you can further discover what our city has to offer.
