An Invitation from the Association professionnelle des guides touristiques, (February 21st)
Montréal, February 1st, 2000 — This year, The Association professionnelle des guides touristiques, chapitre de Montréal, has decided to celebrate this very special day by offering free city tours to Montrealers on Monday, February 21st.
Many departures will be scheduled in both languages from the occasion but it will be necessary to hold a reservation for a specific tour in order to get on the bus. This can be done by calling (514) 990-9849.
All these tours will begin at métro Place d’Armes in Old Montréal from the debarking pier ofthe Palais des Congrès on Viger Street West, right next to the métro station.
We wish to invite all of you that are interested in getting to know their city better, and by the same time to discover the work of a Montreal official professional City Tour Guide.
In 1989, The World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations, proclaimed the 21 of February, the International Day for the City tourist guides living and working in cities that require an official license to do so. In 1999, The City of Montréal Council declared February 21st, the official International Tourist Guide Day.
Hoping to see you in great number.
