The Montréal Professional Tourist Guide Association (APGT) wishes you an enjoyable stay in Montréal.

For all your guided tours in our metropolis aboard a motorized vehicle, on foot or by bike, we strongly recommend that you demand the services of a certified guide – highly knowledgeable of the city, responsible and adhering to a professional code of ethics.

The City of Montréal’s municipal By-Law G-2 stipulates that any person who hosts or leads a guided tour within the territory of the City must have in their possession their tourist guide’s permit for the current year. All APGT members are owners of this permit and also carry their official badge with their photo and the logo of the Association.

For further information about tourist services, attractions and characteristics of the city, we invite you to pay a visit to the Infotouriste Centre at Dorchester Square downtown or the Tourist Welcome Office in Old Montréal, on Place Jacques-Cartier.

The APGT is a member of Tourisme Montréal and the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations (WFTGA), the only international federation encompassing local and regional tourist guide associations.

To learn how to reserve the services of a guide within the territory of the City of Montréal, please visit the “Accredited guides” section.

We wish you excellent urban exploring along with one of our members!
